Note this report suggests a portion of the population does not seek dental
treatment due to the costs, and could be helped by immediate review
of the Alberta Dental Association bylaws that reduce competition among dental professionals.
UPDATE: Many of the anti-competitive bylaws have been reversed. For example it is no longer misconduct for advertising free consultations.
One recent Health Minister announced an investigation into the Alberta Dental Association & College and had concerns about conflicts of interest that interfere with dentist pricing.
